Positive sentiment returned to the Australian wool auction markets this week after the brief lull experienced last week. A little over 43,000 bales was offered to the trade, with mainly the fine, medium and broad wool Merino fleece being most sought as the renewed buying interest from Chinese buyers and local forward sellers saw gains of 20ac/clean kg in this area. Most other sectors managed to post smaller but handy gains, apart from the Merino cardings which matched the largest of the market fleece gains. As a result, 7ac/clean kg was added to the EMI (Eastern Market Indicator), to finish the week at 1242ac/clean kg.
