At auctions this week the market reacted to the large price increases of last week, with vastly differing results across the microns. By weeks end, all of the micron indicators showed quotes that slipped away, but within most Merino fleece brackets, firmer prices were achieved for those wools exhibiting good style and strength and lower (less than 45) calculated cvh (co-efficient of variation of hauteur) readings. Merino skirtings remained around similar levels whilst cardings and all of the crossbred sectors recorded small retractions. The EMI (Eastern Market Indicator) closed out at 1234ac/clean kg, a decrease of 16ac/ clean kg for the week.
