New campaign images released featuring Alessandro Del Piero

After the announcement at the 86th edition of Pitti Uomo in June 2014, The Woolmark Company is proud to present the images of the new Merino Wool. No Finer FeelingTM global fibre advocacy campaign with the global football superstar and world champion Alessandro Del Piero as ambassador for Merino wool.


ALESSANDRO DEL PIEROThe campaign had been shot in July by the world-renowned Italian photographer Oliviero Toscani who captured the energy and the talent of Alessandro Del Piero in a unique and active way.

In the images Alessandro wears a relaxed wool suit by TechMerino Z Zegna and kicks a wool ball made by Zegna Baruffa yarn.

The slogan used in the campaign "Natural Talent" perfectly embodies both the talent of Alessandro and the natural qualities of Merino wool that allows feeling comfortable whatever you are doing. The great return of wool in active sport is the proof of this.

Launched into Autumn/Winter media in print, iPad/tablet and online, from November 2014 the campaign will be in some of the most important magazines worldwide. Furthermore a mini reportage film of the backstage of the shoot will be on the screens of some of the most important international airlines. In the campaign, Del Piero expresses his personal vision on Merino wool, "When I wear Merino wool I feel comfortable, I feel right with myself, because I can do everything, I can go everywhere, it's great and I love it."
