One of the most important events for apparel fabrics and accessories – the 19th Intertextile Shanghai (Apparel Fabrics) - has been held in October. The latest wool fabrics from the 2014/15 Autumn/Winter edition of The Wool Lab were presented by The Woolmark Company and garnered great attention from the industry.
The exhibition revealed the most appealing woollen trends and guidelines for the upcoming season’s best products. The Wool Lab proposed seven inspirational themes and set warm colours as a dominant hue of knitwear. Among these, the theme of Highlands stemmed from the massive landscape of Scottish Highlands and diversified colours of hilly regions. It combines various vegetation colours into one, from jungle green and grass green to land brown, giving people a sense of comfort, thickness and warmness.
The colour blue will also continue with its popularity and remain a typical choice for both formal and leisure occasions, thanks to its fineness and profound expressive force.
In this season, a total of eight inspirational fabric trends were introduced to public: Classic woven fabric pattern made by multi-colour melange/mouline yarn; Wool jeans fabric; circular knitted woven fabric; woven fabric laminated/printed/coated with patterned fabrics; 3D or relief effect surface, especially different texture on both sides; fancy pattern circular fabric such as a lace effect; as well as vintage effect. Some woollen/worsted woven fabrics with a classic pattern for interior textile use was also included to be applied to autumn and winter products.
