Kabuki actor En-no-suke Ichikawa was presented with the inaugural Cool Wool Best Dresser Award.
The Best Dresser Award was launched in 1972 and has been run by Men’s Fashion Unity - an industry association consisting of major men’s wear brands such as Onward and Renown. The award is granted to those who have made the most remarkable achievements in the year and are regarded as one of the most influential fashion awards in Japan.
For the first time in 30 years, The Woolmark Company established a Cool Wool Award, in-line with the relaunch of this campaign earlier in the year.
The inaugural recipient of the Cool Wool Award was Kabuki actor En-no-suke Ichikawa as it was deemed he most suited the Cool Wool look. Woolmark licensee Ohga provided En-no-suke with Timothy Everest suits for the awards.
Other recipients of the 2012 Best Dresser Awards were:
- Mr. Kozo Takaoka, CEO of Nestle Japan
- Ms. Ayame Goriki, Actress
