The Woolmark Performance Challenge is an annual product innovation competition open to tertiary students. It provides an opportunity to apply the unique benefits of Australian Merino wool to innovative new product applications in the sports and performance market. In addition to the student’s individual prize, their institution will also be awarded a cash prize of €10,000, in recognition of their role in developing and supporting the growth of the some of the most innovative minds of the next generation.
The Woolmark Performance Challenge presents an unrivalled opportunity for tertiary students to apply the science and performance benefits of Australian Merino wool to innovative new product applications. This will not only be a unique learning experience for students, but will also provide the winner with a financial reward and potential for further collaboration.

MEET THE 2019 WOOLMARK PERFORMANCE CHALLENGE WINNERS
For the first time, two winners were awarded the adidas x Woolmark Performance Challenge at the 2019 final event held in Munich, Germany. The win is set to kick-start the careers of both young designers, praised by a leading panel of judges for their innovative, forward-thinking solutions for the sports market, using Australian Merino wool. From an energy-generating Merino wool base-layer to hidden protection for skaters, this year’s winners and finalists are pushing the boundaries of innovation.
To enter the Woolmark Performance Challenge 2020, you must be currently enrolled in tertiary level education. The Challenge is open to all students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, for individual entry only (no team entries will be accepted).
Any student from a collaborating institution may enter the Woolmark Performance Challenge, regardless of your course of study. Woolmark Performance Challenge invites students studying a wide range of specialisms to take part: from product design, industrial design, advanced materials, and performance/product engineering, to textile futures, innovation and new applications and more.
